GNU Network Object Model Environment
<operating system> (GNOME) A project to build a complete, user-friendly desktop based entirely on free software. GNOME is part of the GNU project and part of the OpenSource movement.
The desktop will consist of small utilities and larger applications which share a consistent look and feel.
GNOME uses GTK+ as the GUI toolkit for applications.
GNOME is intended to run on any modern and functional Unix-like system.
The current version runs on Linux, FreeBSD, IRIX and Solaris.
