Henry IV, Part I by William Shakespeare
Act 2 - Scene 4
The Boar’s-Head Tavern, Eastcheap.
Sheriff : Good night, my noble lord.
Sheriff : Indeed, my lord, I think it be two o'clock.
Vintner : What, standest thou still, and hearest such a
[p]calling? Look to the
guests within.
[p][Exit Francis]
[p]My lord, old Sir John, with
half-a-dozen more, are
[p]at the door: shall I let them in?
Gadshill : We four set upon some dozen--
Gadshill : And bound them.
Gadshill : As we were sharing, some six or seven fresh men set upon us--
Sheriff : First, pardon me, my lord. A hue and cry
[p]Hath follow'd certain men
unto this house.
Sheriff : One of them is well known, my gracious lord,
[p]A gross fat man.
Carrier : As fat as butter.
Sheriff : I will, my lord. There are two gentlemen
[p]Have in this robbery lost
three hundred marks.
