Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare
Act 2 - Scene 3
A street near the Capitol.
Artemidorus : 'Caesar, beware of Brutus; take heed of Cassius;
[p]come not near
Casca; have an eye to Cinna, trust not
[p]Trebonius: mark well
Metellus Cimber: Decius Brutus
[p]loves thee not: thou hast wronged
Caius Ligarius.
[p]There is but one mind in all these men, and it
is
[p]bent against Caesar. If thou beest not immortal,
[p]look about
you: security gives way to conspiracy.
[p]The mighty gods defend thee!
Thy lover,
[p]'ARTEMIDORUS.'
[p]Here will I stand till Caesar pass
along,
[p]And as a suitor will I give him this.
[p]My heart laments
that virtue cannot live
[p]Out of the teeth of emulation.
[p]If thou
read this, O Caesar, thou mayst live;
[p]If not, the Fates with
traitors do contrive.
