King Lear by William Shakespeare
Act 5 - Scene 2
A field between the two camps. Alarum within.
Edgar : Here, father, take the shadow of this tree
[p]For your good host. Pray
that the right may thrive.
[p]If ever I return to you again,
[p]I'll
bring you comfort.
Earl of Glouchester : Grace go with you, sir!
Edgar : Away, old man! give me thy hand! away!
[p]King Lear hath lost, he and
his daughter ta'en.
[p]Give me thy hand! come on!
Earl of Glouchester : No further, sir. A man may rot even here.
Edgar : What, in ill thoughts again? Men must endure
[p]Their going hence,
even as their coming hither;
[p]Ripeness is all. Come on.
Earl of Glouchester : And that's true too. Exeunt.
