Yavapai sunflower bread
Yield: 1 Loaf
Ingredients:
- 1/4 c Honey
- 1 ts Salt
- 1/4 c Butter; softened
- 1 tb Baking powder
- 2 Egg; beaten
- 1 c Milk
- 1 c FLour whole wheat
- 1 1/2 c Sunflower seeds ground -shell & meat or meat only
- 1/2 c Sunflower meats; whole or
Instructions:
-coarsely chopped Beat the honey and butter together then beat in the eggs. Combine the flour baking powder salt and ground seeds adding to the honey-butter mixture alternately with the milk. Fold in the whole sunflower seeds. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and bake one hour at 325 F. Cool on a rack. This bread slices better when cool.
