String bean provencal
Yield: 12 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 tb Olive oil
- 4 md Onions chopped
- 4 Garlic cloves chopped
- 28 oz Plum tomatoes in thick puree
- 2 ts Leaf thyme crumbled
- 2 ts Sugar
- 1/4 ts Salt
- 1/4 ts Ground black pepper
- 2 lb String beans trimmed and Halved
- 1>. Heat oil in Dutch oven over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook covered stirring occasionally
- 8 minutes or until softened.
Instructions:
Add tomatoes thyme sugar salt and pepper breaking tomatoes with back of spoon. Stir in the string beans. Simmer covered stirring occasionally 25 to 35 minutes or until beans are tender.
