Savannah red rice
Yield: 6 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1/4 lb Bacon
- 1/2 c Chopped Onion
- 2 c Raw Rice
- 2 c Red Tomatoes
- 1/2 ts Salt
- 1/4 ts Pepper
- 1/8 ts Tabasco
Instructions:
Fry bacon until crips. Remove from pan & cook onions until tender in bacon fat. Add rice tomatoes seasonings and bacon crumbled. Cook over low heat about 10 minutes. Pour into two-qt. casserole and cover tightly (can use foil). Cook in 350-degree oven for one hour stirring with fork a couple of times. Serves 6-8 people. Recipe By : Laura Vogler
