Tahini-miso sauce
Yield: 1 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 tb Oil
- 3 tb Whole wheat pastry flour
- 1/4 c Tahini
- 1 1/4 c ;water or vegetable stock
- 2 tb Miso
Instructions:
Heat the oil in a small saucepan. Add the flour and cook stirring constantly until the flour is lightly browned and begins to give off a nutty aroma. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the tahini. Add a small amount of water and stir vigorously to form a paste. Return th epan to the heat and slowly add the remaining water. Stirring continuously cook the sauce until the desired consistency is reached. If the sauce is too thick add a little water. Remove from the saucepan from the heat and add the miso. Stir well. Variation: Saute 1/2 cup of finely chopped onion in the oil before adding the flour. Mix well and proceed as indicated above. From the files of DEEANNE
