Real cornbread
Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients:
- 2 c Yellow cornmeal
- 1 c Flour
- 3 TB Vegetable oil
- 2 ea Egg
- 1 1/2 c Milk
- 1 1/2 ts Salt
- 2 TB Sugar
- 1 TB Baking powder
Instructions:
Measure dry ingredients and stir. Add milk mix well. Add eggs beat >> thoroughly. Stir in oil beat aagain until well blended. Melt Crisco in heated cast iron skillet (mine measures about 9 inches across the bottom). Pour the batter into the hot pan. Bake in a 400 degree F. oven about 40 minutes until top is lightly brown.
