Monte cristo
Yield: 6 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c Butter; softened
- 2 ts Prepared mustard
- 12 sl White bread
- 6 sl Swiss cheese cut in half
- 6 sl Cooked ham
- 3 Eggs; beaten
- 1/3 c Milk
Instructions:
Confectioners sugar and Cherry preserves In a small bowl beat together the butter and mustard until well blended. Spread on one side of each slice of bread. for each sandwich top one slice of bread with half a slice of cheese one slice of ham half a slice of cheese and second slice of bread butter side down. In a medium bowl beat together the eggs and milk. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture. Brown both sides of the sandwich on a lightly buttered griddle. Place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 425 oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Slice each sandwich in half sprinkle with confectioners sugar and top with preserves.
