Skewered beef grilled in la-lot leaves
Yield: 6 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1/2 lb Eye round of beef cut again -st grain into 30 very
- 1 ts Ground dried lemon grass
- 4 Cloves garlic minced
- 2 tb Sugar granulated
- 2 tb Soy sauce
- 2 tb Medium dry sherry like amon -tillado
- 1/2 ts Vegetable oil
- 1/4 ts Oriental sesame oil
- 1/4 ts Black pepper ground
- 30 La-lot
Instructions:
shiso or fresh grap -e leaves Combine all ingredients except leaves. Mix well cover and marinate at room temperature for 2 hours or in refrigerator overnight. Soak six 8" bamboo skewers in water. Wrap each piece of beef in one of leaves. Fold ends of leaf over the beef then roll to form bundle about size of wine cork. Thread five bundles close together on skewer. Preheat grill or broiler and grill or broil for 3 minutes on each side until crisp and brown. Serve. Yield: 6 servings * freeze the meat till firm but not solid before slicing
