Macaroni with ham & asparagus

Ingredients:
- 2 c Asparagus tips and stems -steamed (1" pieces tender -only)(fresh only)
- 1/4 c Butter
- 2 Med onions chopped
- 1/2 lb Ham diced
- 1 c Heavy cream Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lb Macaroni cooked according to
Instructions:
-directions Grated cheese (parmigiana) Saute onions in butter until pale in color. Add asparagus and ham and saute for 2 min. Keep heat low and add heavy cream. After 30 seconds turn OFF heat.(don`t get the cream too hot or it will separate). Pour over hot cooked pasta and toss with cheese. Serve with extra cheese on the side.
