Tutti-fruitti squares
Yield: 2 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 c Sugar
- 3 Eggs well beaten
- 1 c Chopped dates
- 1/4 c Diced candied pineapple
- 3 tb Melted shortening
- 1/2 ts Salt
- 3/4 c Flour
- 1 c Chopped nuts
- 1/4 c Chopped candied orange peel
- 1 1/2 ts Baking powder
Instructions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat until light. Sift flour measure and sift with baking powder and salt. Add fruits and nuts alternately with dry ingredients to first mixture. Mix thoroughly. Pour into shallow well-oiled pan. Bake in slow oven (325 F) about 30 minutes. Cool. Cut in squares and dip in powdered sugar. 12 servings. Mrs. C.E. Rundquist Orchard NE.
