Dorothy's sweet & sour chicken
Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients:
- 2 lb Chicken parts
- 8 oz Pineapple chunks
- 1 c Chicken broth
- 2 tb Shortening
- 2 tb Brown sugar
- 1/4 c Vinegar
- 2 ts Soy sauce
- 1 Large onion
- 1 Med. green pepper
- 3 tb Cornstarch
- 1/4 c Water
Instructions:
Drain pineapple reserving syrup. In skillet brown chicken in shortening. Pour off fat. Add reserved syrup broth brown sugar vinegar soy sauce and garlic. Cover and cook over low heat 40 minutes. Add green pepper amd pineapple cook 5 minutes. Combine cornstarch and water gradually stir into sauce.
