Cordon bleu chicken casserole
Yield: 6 Servings
Ingredients:
- 6 Single chicken breasts -cooked
- 6 Slices ham cooked
- 6 Slices Swiss cheese
- 4 tb Butter
- 4 tb Flour
- 1/4 ts Thyme
- 1 Egg beaten
- 1 3/4 c Milk
- 1/4 c Dry breadcrumbs
- 2 ts Butter
Instructions:
melted In a greased 8x8 inch baking pan arrange a layer of chicken top with a layer of ham then a layer of cheese. To prepare sauce melt 4 tablespoons butter and add flour and thyme. Combine egg and milk and add slowly to flour mixture. Continue cooking stirring constantly until smooth and thickened. Pour over chicken. Combine 2 teaspoons melted butter and dry breadcrumbs.
