Halibut delight
Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 lb Halibut cut into chunks
- 1 c Flour
- 1 1/2 ts Garlic powder
- 1 1/2 ts Curry powder -- (or a bit less)
- 1 ts Marjoram
- 2 ts Baking powder
- 3/4 ts Lemon pepper
- 2 c Panko --(Japanese potato flakes)
- 12 fl Flat beer (or less)
Instructions:
Combine flour garlic powder curry powder marjoram baking powder and lemon pepper. Mix well. Slowly add enough flat beer to make a thick batter. Dip halibut in batter and then roll in Panko. Let stand for 2 minutes. Deep fry in 375 degree F. fat until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper and serve with a tartar sauce or a zesty tomato horseradish sauce for dipping. Serves 3-4.
