Pork steaks & corn dressing
Yield: 6 Servings
Ingredients:
- 3 Pork blade steaks cut 1/2"
- 1 ts Salt
- 1 Onion medium-size chopped
- 1 cn Corn cream-style(16oz) Paprika
- 1 tb Lard
- 1/8 ts Pepper
- 6 c Bread cubes dry
- 1 ts Sage
Instructions:
1. Brown steaks on both sides in lard; remove from pan and season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and the pepper. 2. Add onion to pan drippings; brown lightly. 3. Add bread cubes and corn to onion; sprinkle with sage and remaining salt. Mix to combine. 4. Place stuffing in a 13x9-inch roasting pan or baking dish; place steaks on top of stuffing. 5. Cover tightly with foil; bake in preheated 325'F. oven 1 hour or until meat is done. 6. Sprinkle with paprika. NOTE: To obtain 6 cup dry bread cubes heat 7 cups fresh bread cubes in preheated 325'F. oven 10 minutes.
