Cheese stuffed shells
Yield: 6 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 lb bulk Italian sausage
- 1 lg onion chopped
- 10 oz frozen spinach cooked : and well drained
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 egg beaten
- 2 c shredded mozzarella : cheese divided
- 2 c shredded cheddar : cheese
- 1 c cottage cheese
- 1/4 c grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 ts salt and pepper
- 1/8 ts ground cinnamon
- 20 jumbo shell noodles : cooked and drained : marinara sauce
- 20 oz bottle Marinara sauce
- 1/4 c white wine
- 1/2 ts dried basil
- 1/4 ts minced garlic Basic marinara sauce of choice: add 1/4 cup white wine
- 1/2 tea of dried basil 1/4 tea. minced garlic for richer
Instructions:
flavor. In skillet brown sausage crumbled and onion. Transfer to large bowl. Add in spinach cream cheese and egg. Add 1 cup mozzarella cheddar and cottage cheese along with parmesan. add seasonings. Mix well. Stuff cooked shells arrange in 13 x 9 in baking dish. Spoon sauce over shells. Reserve some sauce for serving. Cover and bake 40 minutes.
