Treacle & oatmeal drop scones(english)
Yield: 4 Servings
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Self-raising flour
- 1 1/2 ts Level baking powder pn Salt
- 1/2 oz Soft brown sugar
- 2 oz Medium oatmeal
- 1 oz Butter
- 1 tb Black treacle
- 1 sm Egg well beaten
- 1/4 pt Milk (scant)
Instructions:
Sieve the flour baking powder and salt into a bowl and stir in the sugar and the oatmeal. Gently melt the butter and black treacle together in a pan. Add to the dry ingredients and stir in with the well beaten egg and the milk. Heat a thick frying pan or griddle and grease lightly. Drop teaspoons of the mixture on to the pan; as soon as bubbles appear on the surface turn over and cook the other side. Serve hot with butter.
