German potato salad
Yield: 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 6 sl Bacon 1 Teaspoons. celery seed
- 1/2 c Chopped onion 1 ds Pepper
- 2 tb All-purpose flour 1 c Water
- 2 tb Sugar 1/2 c Vinegar
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons. salt 6 c Sliced cooked potatoes
Instructions:
Cook bacon till crisp; drain and crumble reserving 1/4 cup drippings. Cook onion in reserved drippings till tender. Blend in flour sugar salt celery seed and pepper. Add water and vinegar; cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Add bacon and potatoes tossing lightly; heat thoroughly about 10 minutes. Trim with parsley and pimiento if desired. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
