Sour cream prune cake
Yield: 6 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 c Brown sugar
- 1 c Thick sour cream
- 1/4 c Cold water
- 1/2 ts Baking soda
- 1/2 ts Salt
- 1 1/2 c Cake flour
- 2 Eggs well beaten
- 1 c Uncooked pitted prunes
- 2 ts Baking powder
- 1 ts Cinnamon
- 1 ts Cloves
- 1 ts Nutmeg
Instructions:
Combine eggs sugar cream and water. Mix well. Sift flour measure 1 1/4 cups and sift with baking powder baking soda salt and spices. Add to first mixture. Beat thoroughly. Add prunes which have been cut in small pieces and dredged in 1/4 cup of the sifted flour. Pour into well-oiled loaf pan. Bake in moderate oven (375 F) about 45 minutes. The Household Searchlight
