Wallpaper cleaner (1909 presidential cookbook
Yield: 1 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1 c Flour -- (heaping)
- 1 tb Kerosene
- 2 tb Ammonia
- 1/2 c Warm water CLEANER #2-
- 1 Sal Ammoniac
- 4 Parts rye flour Water CLEANER #3-
- 1 tb Salt
- 1 tb Kerosene
- 2 tb Vinegar
- 2 tb Ammonia
- 1/2 c Warm water
- 1/2 c Flour
Instructions:
Mix above and boil til flour is thoroughly scalded stirring constantly. Then knead w/ hands and it is ready for use. Use as if it were an eraser. CLEANER #2 Add enough water to the rye flour and ammoniac that it will form a dough then use on soiled parts as if the mixture was a sponge. Turn soiled part of dough into itself and work out a clean part of the mixture. Never continue to rub the soiled surface of the cleaner into the wall. CLEANER #3 Cook while stirring.
